    Maeve Harris is an American abstract painter who grew up in New Jersey and began oil painting at eight. Her work investigates color and light and is influenced by natural and organic forms. In 1994, Harris moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where she attended Arizona State University and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in fine art photography. Harris studied abroad in Florence, Italy, an experience that left a lasting impact on her work.

    Harris creates her own pigments and uses multiple layers of metallic and non-metallic hues to suggest the passage of time and change of perspective. She experiments with form, material, and technique when approaching a traditional subject.
